HG: Sweet n Sticky Sesame Chicken

One of my all time favorite foods is sesame chicken from the Chinese take-out place down the road (well, really just any sesame chicken, but I digress). I know its horrible for you, but I just can't help myself. So when Hungry Girl made a sesame chicken recipe, I was all for it. I've been wanting to make this for a while, but only got around to it he other night.
This recipe actually reminded me more of honey/orange chicken than sesame chicken, but it was still very good. My mom and I did make some alterations to the recipe. We omitted the sesame oil, and added a bit of Splenda brown sugar to add a bit more sweetness. I don't think that this will completely take the place of take-out, but it is a recipe that I will make again.

HG: Nacho-Riffic Stuffed Chicken

I've been getting really bored with what I've been having for dinner, so I decided to try something new. I saw this recipe for stuffed chicken on HG's show and knew I had to try it.

(Please to be ignoring the stuff on the left, it's the filling that fell out during baking). This stuff is sooo good! The filling was gooey and cheesey, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the topping was crunchy and had a bite to it. This is definitely one that I'll have to make again.

Filet Mignon with Garlic Cream Sauce

Getting fancy over here today! This was made by my mom (I helped making the sauce), since I am incapable of cooking meat. She used a recipe from the Weight Watcher's 5 Ingredient Cookbook.

The serving is actually quite large (for 6 points), I was just using a giant plate. This was sooo good. I don't eat red meat very often, so this was a treat. The cream sauce was soo garlic-y and yummy. Asparagus was the perfect side, too.

Honey Chicken

This recipe was a disaster, when I tryed to make it. But mom stepped it and made it all okay. I've said it once, and I'll say it again...I am a baker, not a cook. :) I mixed two recipes together to make this chicken; HG's Sesame Chicken and BlogChef's Honey Chicken.

I followed HG's recipe to make the chicken - baking it in the oven - and BlogChef's to make the sauce. I completely failed making the sauce. Our garlic was all dried out, so I used garlic powder, which burned when I added it to the oil. It was bad. Luckily, Mom actually knows what she's doing in the kitchen, and made another - perfect - batch. According to her, she did tweak the recipe a little bit. She added a bit more rice wine vinegar and almost doubled the honey.

This chicken is soooo good. The Chinese buffet near my house shut down recently, and I was lameting the fact that I could no longer get their honey chicken. Thank god I found a suitable replacement!

We served the chicken with white rice, and steamed broccoli with stir fry sauce.
